Taking the train to Seward is a great option! The Alaska Railroad will get you from Anchorage to Seward around 11:30am. That's about when the wind starts to pick up in Res Bay! We're located in the harbor, just a 5-10 minute walk from the train depot. And the train departs Seward daily at 6pm. *We suggest you add a night in Seward though. Check with us about availability for staying aboard our boat!
Book your Railroad ticket separately. Starting at $203 per person.
Customize your own sailing adventure and enjoy life at sea with an experienced captain.
Take your sailing adventure further! Enjoy longer days of sailing and a slower paced vacation. Go ashore to hike and explore. Come back to a delicious dinner and be gently rocked to sleep. Meals are included.
Limited to 3 people, recommended for 2. Crew stays aboard in shared space.
*At anchor, expect no cell service and limited battery power.
Plan to leave Seward around noon on day 1 and return around 5pm on the last day. We will be sailing (hopefully) 7-25 miles each day and anchoring in coves each night with no services. There are no other nearby services like fuel, provisions, and water. But don't worry, we have all the necessary safety and navigational aides we need!
We will be in contact with you about meal preferences, menus and allergies. Tell us if you have any must-sees so we can plan the best itinerary for you. All plans are weather-dependent.
Upon arrival, we will have the boat loaded with provisions, bedding, water, & fuel to take off in our floating hotel for the length of your sailing adventure. Once we get you & your bag onboard and situated, we'll review weather, charts, our itinerary, and give a safety orientation.
We hope you are here to SAIL! We are happy to teach you anything and everything along the way! Let us know how much experience you have and what you want to do. Raise sails, trim sheets, take the helm, or relax and enjoy! If the conditions are pretty gnarly, we'll leave it to the experienced captain. Some conditions make it lovely for whale watching or enjoying a book, while other conditions have you feeding the fish! Sometimes we have no wind and we're forced to motor. Sailing is an adventure!
Choose your own adventure! We could go exploring, hiking, SUPing, fishing, beach combing or stay aboard to rest, relax, read, or play games.
Dinner will be prepared to enjoy together. Breakfast can be on-the-go or shared together as well. Capt. Kate will do all the cooking and she enjoys it! But if you'd like to cook us a meal, she's willing to share the galley.
We will go over safety and lifesaving equipment during our orientation at the dock. We provide the required USCG lifejackets and also have more comfortable ones. Our boats have a VHF radio to hail SeaTow or the USCG on channel 16. We carry an inReach device to reach emergency contacts and have an EPIRB onboard, both of which send SOS messages should the boat sink.
Pack lightly in a backpack or duffle. No hard suitcases. We are able to store extra gear that is not needed. Towel & bedding provided. USB charging available. Limited use of A/C power/ wall outlets.
